Global Marijuana March X 2 in Toronto

For the last 15 years the Toronto Marijuana March has grown and expanded drastically. When we first attended this global event in Toronto, 14 years ago. 500 stoners gathered at Toronto City Hall and puffed and puffed. As the event grew in popularity it had to move and evolve. Taking over queens park and the major arteries of Toronto yearly. With the rest of the world, first weekend in May every year.

In the last 2 years though, this event has out grown its home and with a very right wing Ford administration, it was easy for the city to put the breaks on. The organizers have yet to fix this issue. Can it be fixed? Has Toronto lost one of its greatest events?

This year it looks like Toronto will be getting two marches but no festival around it. This is a real loss, as the event showcased the best of Toronto Cannabis culture. Headshops, vapor lounges, activists and musicians.

The march is very important in showing solidarity and our large numbers, and in that sense Toronto will be blessed two weekends in a row
.

MAY 4TH HASHMOB RENEGADE MARCH

https://www.facebook.com/events/553098838046950/
Toronto Hash Mob and Bong Man are gathering at High Noon on Queens Park back lawn Saturday May 4 to be part of the worldwide weed protest known as Global Marijuana March. It’s an unofficial spontaneous gathering of stoners (ie a Hash Mob not Flash Mob) who meet up the first Saturday in May every year.

Wake and bake sessions start at High Noon with intentions to stretch our legs by going for a walk around the city about 2pm and returning for 420pm. We will leave the park peacefully by 520pm picking up our garbage on the way out.

Bring your buds!
Bring your friends!
Bring your signs!
Bring your noisemakers!
Bring your right to peacefully assemble!

The 15th annual Global Marijuana March (GMM) is FREE to attend and you don't need a ticket to participate. Date is set for Saturday May 11th 2013 in well over 100 cities across the globe!

The GMM is the world’s largest marijuana march attracting upwards of 20,000 medical and recreational cannabis supporters and enthusiasts to downtown Toronto. This year organizers are looking to recent victories in Colorado and Washington in America as inspi...ration to bring about positive change to end the prohibition of cannabis in Canada. The GMM crowd gathers behind the provincial Queens Park legislature at HIGH NOON before the parade at 2pm north of the park at Charles Street. The confirmed march route will be released shortly and we expect to once again be travelling along the world's longest street. There will once again be a 4:20PM countdown at the Toronto Freedom Festival.

The peaceful protest and celebration has never had an arrest in the event's 15 year history. The TFF and GMM are the City’s largest spring outdoor gatherings generating millions of dollars to the local economy. It will be taking place 3 weeks after ERB4HERB's Natonal 'www.420rally.ca' on Saturday April 20th 2013. Toronto's 4/20 will once again be at Yonge & Dundas Square.
